GOLFERS OF THE WEEK
MEN’S
Trevor Norby, Oklahoma Christian, SR, Interdisciplinary Studies, Carlsbad, Calif., San Marcos HS
Norby rallied on the final day to take medalist honors in the Jerry Hrnciar Invitational, hosted by Cameron at The Territory Golf Club (par 72, 7,110 yards) in Duncan, Okla. Norby shot 72-69 for a three-under par 141 to top a field of 100 players. The tournament included four top-25 teams, including No. 4 Arkansas Tech, No. 7 OC, No. 9 St. Mary's and No. 21 Midwestern State. It was Norby's third career win and the third win of the fall season for the Eagles, who haven't been topped yet by a Division II opponent in the 2019-20 campaign.

Holly Winter, West Texas A&M, SR, Ag Business, Hawera, New Zealand, New Plymouth Girls School
Winter led the No. 10 Lady Buffs to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Division II West Region Preview in Carlsbad, Calif. The senior finished tied for fourth at 4-over par after shooting a final round 1-over 73 on the Legends course at La Costa Spa and Resort. She finished with the second-most pars (26) during the 36-hole event while ranking second in Par 4 scoring and sixth in Par 3 scoring.
 
Kiersten Bryant, St. Edward’s, FR, Computer Science, San Antonio, Texas, Johnson HS
Bryant finished tied for fourth place at the Division II West Region Preview, which wrapped up Tuesday at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Bryant carded a 36-hole score of 148 (71-77). She landed four birdies during the tournament and was 2-under-par on par 5 holes.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
      Logan Durst, Cameron, led the Aggie men to a fifth place finish at their home tournament, the Jerry Hrnciar Invitational, this past week. The junior shot a 142 and tied for second place in the 36-hole event, shooting a round-low 68 in the first round and a 74 in the second. Durst shot five under on the par-5 holes and had a team-high nine birdies.
Kolton Baber, Midwestern State, career low round of 68 (-4) propelled him 20 spots on the leaderboard to finish as runner-up in the Jerry Hrnciar Invitational at The Territory Golf Club. The sophomore from nearby Devol, Okla. carded scores of 74 and 68 for a 2-under total of 142 to help Midwestern State to a third place team finish. It was Baber's first collegiate Top 10 showing.
      Parker Holekamp, Texas A&M International, led the Dustdevils to a seventh place finish, tied with Texas A&M-Commerce, at the Jerry Hrncair Invitational this week. With back-to-back rounds of 71, the senior finished in a five-way tie for five-way tie for second with a card of 2-under-142.
      Brendan Johnson, UT Tyler, fired a one-under 71 in Monday's opening round, following that with a one-over 73 Tuesday to finish in ninth place at even-par 144 at the Jerry Hrnciar Invitational.  He tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard in the opening round with a his one-under 71.  Johnson led the tournament in birdies with 10, hitting five in each round, and he was also the tournament leader in scoring on par 5 holes, finishing six-under with an average score of 4.25.
      Clayton King, St. Edward’s, finished tied for eighth place at the Battle of the Belt, which wrapped up Tuesday at Hot Springs Country Club in Arkansas. King led the Hilltoppers with a three-round total of 225 (73-75-77).
      Juanita Gomez, Midwestern State, claimed her first collegiate individual tournament title outlasting teammate Anna Kittelson by one stroke to win the Fort Lewis Skyhawk Intercollegiate at the University of New Mexico's South Championship Course. The junior from Medellin, Colombia fired a career low score of 71 (-1) in the opening round then shook off a sluggish beginning to the second round to rebound with birdies on two of the final three holes on the Front Nine. She finished with nine consecutive pars to seal the victory. More importantly, Gomez led the Mustangs to the two lowest team totals of the field on the way as MSU claimed the team win by 29 strokes over Texas A&M International.
      Brittney Do, UT Tyler, tied for third on the individual leaderboard, shooting a one-over 74 in Monday's opening round before following with a two-over 75 on Tuesday to lead UT Tyler to a third-place team finish at the Skyhawk Fall Invitational, which was the Patriots' best team finish during the fall season.  Do scored four birdies in each round, finishing the opening day in third on the individual leaderboard at one-over par, and she was just as solid with another four-birdie round on Tuesday to finish with a two-over par round and three-over par for the tournament.  Do collected half of UT Tyler's 16 birdies in the tournament as the Patriots registered the third-highest team birdie total of the tournament.
      Yuliana Yapur, Texas A&M International, led the Dustdevils to a second place finish at the Fort Lewis Women's Fall Intercollegiate this week. The senior finished in a tie for third place after shooting a 74 in the first round and a 75 in the final round for a card of 5-over-149 for the tournament.
