GOLFERS OF THE WEEK
MEN’S
Trevor Norby, Oklahoma Christian, SR, Interdisciplinary Studies, Carlsbad, Calif., San Marcos HS
Norby made the all-tournament team by finishing fifth (among 72 players) in the Brickyard Invitational, played at Brickyard Crossing Golf Club (par 72, 7,180 yards) in Speedway, Ind., which is part of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway complex and is ranked among the nation's top 100 courses by both Golf Digest and Golfweek. He shot 74-71-70--215 (1-under), recording 12 birdies during the tournament, including six in the final round to vault him up the leaderboard and help OC move up to fifth place in the power-packed 12-team tournament. The first two rounds were played with intermittent rain falling and temperatures in the 50s, making playing conditions especially challenging. The tournament field included top Midwest Region teams including Indianapolis, Findlay and Missouri-St. Louis as well as South Region power Lee.
