LSC Cross Country Top Times - As of 9/15/21 (PDF)
Four Lone Star Conference cross country teams took home team titles as Oklahoma Christian won both the men's and women's crowns in the Aggie Duels in Lawton, Okla., while DBU's women's team and Texas A&M-Commerce's men's team ran home with wins at the East Texas Shootout. UAFS took home third-place finishes in the men's and women's races at the Central Arkansas Cross Country Challenge.

RUNNERS OF THE WEEK
MEN’S
Colten Brown, Oklahoma Christian, SO, Computer Engineering, Boise City, Okla., Boise City HS
Brown recorded his first individual collegiate cross country win while leading a shorthanded Oklahoma Christian squad to the team title in the Aggie Duels in Lawton, Okla. Brown pulled away late from teammate Colton Meyers to win the 8,000-meter race in 24:22.84, more than 58 seconds faster than his previous best time at that distance. It was the first time OC runners finished 1-2 in a cross country race since Oct. 24, 2015, when the Eagles won the Heartland Conference Championship meet, and the first individual race win by an OC runner since Oct. 12, 2019. The Aggie Duels included six teams and 51 runners.
WOMEN’S
Kenya Bailey, Oklahoma Christian, JR, Nursing, Ponca City, Okla., Midwest City HS
Bailey posted a dominating individual win (the first of her career) to lead OC to the team title in the Aggie Duels in Lawton, Okla. She began building her lead from the start of the 5,000-meter race and steadily increased it throughout. Bailey's time of 17:59.89 was more than 37 seconds better than her career-best in cross country for the 5k and she finished 64 seconds ahead of second place. Bailey's win was the first by an OC runner in a cross country race since Oct. 8, 2015, when former OC standout Layne Hammer won the Midwestern State Invitational in Wichita Falls, Texas. That also was the last time the Eagles won the team title in any meet.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MEN’S
Alex Speer, Texas A&M-Commerce, FR, Business Administration, Robinson, Texas, Robinson HS
Speer won the East Texas Shootout, hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce, on Friday with a time of 25:15.80 in the 8-kilometer race. The Robinson, Texas native has been the Lions’ top-finisher in both races this season and shaved nearly 50 seconds off his time from the first race.
WOMEN’S
Emme O'Donnell, DBU, FR, Biology, Port Lavaca, Texas, Calhoun HS
O'Donnell helped lift the No. 24 Lady Patriots to a win at the East Texas Shootout in Commerce, Texas, after recording her first career victory in the 5-kilometer event on Saturday. Competing against a field of 45 runners, O'Donnell clocked a time of 18:41.3 and averaged 6:00.9 per mile in her first collegiate race to claim the individual title.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Griffin Chesire, Oklahoma Christian, posted a ninth-place finish in a 51-man field in his first collegiate race to help Oklahoma Christian win the team title in the Aggie Duels in Lawton, Okla. He covered the 8,000 meters in 25:56.16 and helped fill a void left by the absence of three of OC's top runners from the race.
Victoria Rosas, Midwestern State, paced a 5-kilometer personal best time of 19:04.03 to take second Saturday at the Cameron Aggie Duels. The senior from Fort Worth turned in the best seven-team countable finish of her career while leading the Mustangs to a second-place showing.
Presley Wall, Midwestern State, finished 17th with a team countable 5K time of 19:47.90 in her collegiate debut to help Midwestern State to a second-place finish Saturday at the Cameron Aggie Duels. She was the fourth runner into the chute for the Mustangs.
Alondra Campa, Texas A&M-Commerce, has been the Lions’ best finisher in both races this year. She recorded a time of 20:33.2 this past weekend in the 5-kilometer East Texas Shootout hosted by TAMUC.
Madison Coskey, Oklahoma Christian, posted a 12th-place finish in her first collegiate race, which featured a 64-woman field, to help Oklahoma Christian win the team title in the Aggie Duels in Lawton, Okla. She covered the 5-kilometer course in 19:33.20, finishing as the Eagles’ No. 5 runner and securing the team win for OC ahead of runner-up Midwestern State.
