West Texas A&M ran its men's cross country championship streak to double-digits, and DBU won its third straight women's cross country title at the 2022 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships held Saturday at the River Creek Golf Course in Wichita Falls, Texas.

In the men's race, West Texas A&M torched the course, finishing with 28 points to claim its 10th-consecutive title by 62 points. The Buffs were led by individual champion Harry Louradour who finished the 8,000-meter race in 24:11.51, the fastest winning time in an LSC Championship since 2010. Louradour’s title makes it three in four years for WT runners and back-to-back individual championships. The sophomore paced six Buffalo runners on the all-conference team, including 2021 individual medalist Innocent Murwanashyaka who finished in second, Butare Rugenerwa in fourth, Noah Bundrock in ninth, Louis Moreau in 12th and Gustavo Posada in 13th.
DBU finished second in the team standings, scoring 90 points on the day. The Patriots claimed their highest team finish since joining the LSC in 2019, led by Adam Whitehead's seventh-place finish in 25:16.90. Jeb Williamson and Noah Metzger also earned all-conference recognition finishing 10th and 11th. Drew McLaughlin in 26th and Trenton Kelly in 36th completed the scoring for DBU.
St. Edward’s finished just behind the Patriots in third with a 91 score. Martin Segurola’s all-conference performance paced the Hilltoppers with his eighth-place finish. Dylan Sequeira also claimed all-conference accolades, crossing the finish line in 14th place.
Western New Mexico registered 94 points in fourth, and UT Tyler posted a score of 128 points to round out the top five.
WNMU received both the Newcomer and Freshman of the Year awards, with Elias Perez receiving top newcomer recognition and Rowan Flores taking home the top freshman award.
DBU claimed its third women's cross country title with a score of 33 points, placing six runners inside the top 15 and on the all-conference list. Madison Brown led the Patriots, crossing the line in second place. Marissa Insinna and KayCee Keller finished fourth and fifth, while Rylee Cristan finished 10th. Emme O'Donnell in 12th and Emily Cole in 14th rounded out the all-conference performances for DBU.

Florance Uwajeneza breezed through the 6,000-meter race in 20:54.84 to win her third consecutive individual championship. Uwajeneza became the first runner to earn back-to-back-to-back women's individual medalist honors since 1991. The standout senior was followed by teammate Eleonora Curtabbi, who finished in third place. Raquel Chavez and Betty Bajika finished seventh and eighth, and Lexi Maul rounded out the scoring for the Lady Buffs in 25th.
Oklahoma Christian finished on the podium in third place as a team, accumulating a score of 116 points. The Eagles were led by first-year runner Caroline Karr stopped the clock at 22:28.8 in sixth place. The Amarillo, Texas, native received Freshman of the Year honors and landed among the all-conference places. Senior Kenya Bailey and freshman Jayna Gunter just missed the top 15, completing the 6-kilometer course in 16th and 17th position.
St. Edward’s ended the race with 130 points, followed by Midwestern State with 144. Hilltoppers Faith Loftus also took home Newcomer of the Year distinction, placing 27th at the championship meet.
The top 15 finishers for both the men and women earned LSC All-Conference honors.
