LSC Men’s Golf Championships: MSU claims fourth title

GLEN ROSE, Texas – Midwestern State captured its fourth Lone Star Conference Men’s Golf Championship with a playoff victory in the medal match play finals at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose, Texas.
 
      The Mustangs defeated West Texas A&M in a one-hole sudden victory playoff after they finished tied 2-2-1 after 18 holes.
 
      Garrett Leek (66) and Jake Doggett (70) recorded wins in the initial 18 holes, while Mason Mikeska ended his pairing tied (70).
 
      MSU earned the LSC’s automatic bid via a team tiebreaker by a single stroke on Hole No. 17.
 
      WT finished second as Erik Stromfelt (67) and Kolton Baber (68) won their respective matches.
 
      The Mustangs won their fourth team championship (2013, 2018 and 2019).
 
      The South Central/West Regional will be held May 5-7 at the Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colo.  The regional selections will be announced on April 22 on NCAA.com.
