The cross country postseason portion of the 2023 schedule begins with Saturday's Lone Star Conference Championships hosted on the campus of Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, N.M. (Oct. 21). The women's 6k race begins at 9:30 a.m. MDT followed by the men's 8k at 10:30 a.m. MDT.
Last week was a short week for LSC cross country with two men's and two women's teams competing, all at the October 11 ASU Blue and Gold Classic in San Angelo, Texas. West Texas A&M finished 1-2-3-4 in the men's 8k to take team honors followed by host Angelo State. In the women's 6k, ASU and WT competed as individuals with the four Angelo State runners placing 2-3-4-5.

RUNNERS OF THE WEEK Competitions October 9-15
MEN
Colton Aycock, West Texas A&M, Sr., Computer Science, Amarillo, Texas (Randall HS)
Senior Colton Aycock finished third at the ASU Blue & Gold Classic helping West Texas A&M place first out of four teams, including LSC rival Angelo State. Aycock ran his fastest 8k time to date finishing in 27:37.14 while posting his highest finish of the season.
WOMEN
Anna Eischen, Angelo State, Fr., Management, Rowlett, Texas (Sachse HS)
Anna Eischen turned in the second fastest time in the Angelo State Blue & Gold Classic posting the best finish among Division II runners in the 6k race. The freshman's 24:04.00 is her collegiate personal best.
FRESHMAN RUNNERS OF THE WEEK Competitions October 9-15
MEN
Adrian Solis, West Texas A&M, Fr., Animal Science, Big Spring, Texas (Big Spring HS)
Adrian Solis won the ASU Blue & Gold Classic 8k and lead the #6-ranked Buffs to the team title. The freshman crossed the finish line in a season-best 26:59.61 outdistancing the second-place runner by 26 seconds.
WOMEN
Jessica Garcia, West Texas A&M, Fr., Biology, Eldorado, Texas (Eldorado HS)
Freshman Jessica Garcia was the sole representative for #12 West Texas A&M at the ASU Blue & Gold Classic, placing sixth with a time of 26:58.31 in the 6k race.
