Fall play winds down over the next two weeks for Lone Star Conference golf squads. The
men's October 23-24 stretch has DBU playing host to eight LSC teams in the DBU Classic; Oklahoma Christian off to the Copperhead Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla.; and UT Permian Basin competing at the Hawaii Pacific Shark Shootout. UTPB finishes a week in Hawaii at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate October 27-28 – the final tournament on the LSC men's fall schedule. ... Four
women's teams have competitions October 23-24. UT Tyler, Western New Mexico and UTPB are all at the Hawaii Pacific Shark Shootout, then head to the Denis Rose Intercollegiate October 27-28. DBU is at the Nemacolin Intercollegiate in Farmington, Pa. The women's fall schedule concludes with West Texas A&M and DBU at the October 30-31 Division II National Preview in Winter Park, Fla.

Big mid-October tournaments had LSC golf teams busy. Ten
women's teams competed at the Midwesteern State Invitational with St. Mary's posting a 7-stroke win over DBU. Western New Mexico and Lubbock Christian finished in a fourth-place tie at the Nick Turner Invitational. ... On the
men's side, UT Tyler and Oklahoma Christian went one-two at The Hrnciar. Cameron's Rudy Sautron and DBU's Brecken Franklin tied with 7-under 209 with Sautron claiming medalist after a playoff. At the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, WNMU placed fifth behind four Division I teams with a pair of players among the Top 20.

men's Bushnell/Golfweek coaches first 2023-24 poll released October 6. Oklahoma Christian moved up to No. 2 nabbing five first-place votes. West Texas A&M claimed No. 25 while Cameron, Dallas Baptist and Midwestern State were among teams receiving votes in the Top 25 poll. … The
women's Mizuno WGCA coaches poll has been temporarily suspended for the fall.

Seth Campbell, UT Tyler, Jr., Finance, Lovelady, Texas (Lovelady HS)
Seth Campbell led UT Tyler to the team title at the The Hrncair hosted by Cameron. The junior carded a 5-under for the three rounds to tie at third, including a 64 in round two. The 64 set a UT Tyler record for a round in relation to par and propelled the Patriots to their lowest 18-hole score in school history along with a school record lowest 36 hole score.

Savannah Dupre, St. Mary's Fr., Undeclared, Boerne, Texas (Champion HS)
After Olivia Mitchell of Dallas Baptist and Savannah Dupre of St. Mary's each carded red-hot final rounds of 68 to finish tied at 217, Mitchell outlasted Dupre in a three-hole playoff to win the individual title while Dupre’s play helped fuel a team crown at the Midwestern State Invitational. The 68-stroke third rounds by each set a MSU Invitational record and the pair's one-over 217 was the best 54-hole mark for the event. With her win, Mitchell became the first MSU Invitational repeat winner after taking the title at the spring 2023 tournament. Dupre tied the St. Mary's record for lowest round shot by a freshman as she helped the Rattlers to the team win.
