The Lone Star Conference fall golf season is now four weeks in and 10 titles have been collected.
 
On the women’s side, DBU (WinStar Invitational), UT Permian Basin (Oklahoma Women’s Intercollegiate) and UT Dallas (WT Fall Invitational) have won tournament titles. UTPB’s Lorena Etxeberria (Oklahoma Women’s Intercollegiate), West Texas A&M’s Mia Hammerschmid (WinStar Invitational) and Tasnim Smaili (WT Fall Invitational) and St. Mary’s Taylor Wilczek (DBU Classic) have won individual crowns.
 
For the men, UTPB (DII Shootout) has won a tourney championship. UTPB’s Dian Wilmot (DII Shootout) and WT’s Carlos Fernández Mortera (Travis Roy Memorial) have won medalist honors.
 
The two-time defending NCAA Division II national champion DBU women are the No. 1 ranked team in the country in the first Mizuno WGCA Division II Coaches Poll of the fall.
 
The LSC Women’s Golf Championships are set for April 12-14 at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club in Rockwall, Texas. The LSC Men’s Golf Championships will take place the following week (April 19-22) at the same location.
 
StMU (women) and Cameron (men) are the defending conference champions.
 
The NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Super Regional (South Central and West Regions) will take place May 3-5 at Victoria Club in Riverside, Calif. The national tournament is set for May 10-15 at Mission Resort Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
 
The NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Super Regional (South Central and West Regions) will take place May 6-8 at The Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. The national tournament is set for May 17-21 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE GOLFERS OF THE WEEK

(Sept. 27-29 tournaments)
 
WOMEN’S
Taylor Wilczek, St. Mary’s, Sr., MBA, Anthem, Ariz.
St. Mary’s senior Taylor Wilczek carded rounds of 74, 66 and 71 to win the DBU Classic by three strokes at par-72 Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas, Texas. It was the first collegiate title at StMU for Wilczek, who finished five-under (211) in the field of 75 golfers. Her second round (-6) was the lowest of the tournament. Wilczek entered the final round tied for the lead and birdied two of her final three holes to secure the victory. She was the NCAA Division II runner-up last season and tied the course record at the LSC Championship.
 
MEN’S
Christian Yanovitch, Oklahoma Christian, Sr., Marketing, Griswold, Conn.
Oklahoma Christian senior Christian Yanovitch put together an 11-under 69-69-67—205 card to finish as runner-up at The National Preview at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Yanovitch finished just two strokes off the lead and was two strokes ahead of third place in the field of 56 golfers. He had the best par 5 scoring average (4.08) and recorded 16 birdies and one eagle. Yanovitch’s 11-under is the lowest tournament of any golfer in the LSC this fall. He has six consecutive rounds under par to begin his career at OC.
