Cameron’s Murray Leads Five in Men's Golf Academic Honors

Cameron sophomore Hamish Murray picked up Lone Star Conference Men’s Golf Academic Player of the Year honors to headline the men’s golf academic awards, it was announced by league officials Sunday (May 16) at the championship banquet.
 
Murray, who is from Sydney, Australia and majoring in Business Finance, boasts a 4.0 grade-point average. He also leads the Aggies with a 71.96 scoring average, which currently ranks second in school history. He has not finished outside the top 25 all season. Murray was also the 2002 LSC Freshman of the Year.
 
Murray was joined on the team by Oklahoma Christian senior Sports Management major Alejandro Armijo and sophomore Computer Science major Exequiel Rodriguez, UT Tyler sophomore accounting major Jackson Naeger and Western New Mexico senior Business Management major Adam Samnegard.
 
To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 grade point average and be at least a sophomore, both academically and athletically. The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting based on both academic and athletic achievement.
