LSC Scholar-Athlete Award winners announced

The annual Lone Star Conference Scholar-Athlete Award winners were announced on Tuesday (June 11), with 32 student-athletes recognized by league officials.

Each academic year, the LSC presents a Scholar-Athlete Award to one male and one female student-athlete at member institutions. These student-athletes are selected as representatives of the outstanding accomplishments in athletics, scholarship and leadership that are displayed on each LSC campus during the year. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have participated at least two years in their sport and be a member of the graduating class.

In addition to representing all 17 of the league’s member institutions, this year’s recipients represent 15 of the 18 sports that are sponsored by the conference. Baseball, softball and volleyball had the most Scholar-Athletes with five each. Texas is home for an award list-high seven of the recipients, while six student-athletes have a hometown outside of the United States.

The 2022-23 LSC Scholar-Athletes led their respective teams to one national championship and six conference titles.
