Men's 2024 LSC Championship RESULTS
West Texas A&M scored a perfect 15 points in winning its 12th straight Lone Star Conference men's cross country title on Saturday at Dick Kleberg Park in Kingsville, Texas.
William Amponsah paced WT, winning his second consecutive LSC individual title as he covered the 8k course in 23:16.68 – the fastest winning time recorded for the conference championship. Teammates Harry Louradour (23:46.74), Dennis Cheruiyot (23:55.61), Adrian Legarreta (23:57.40) and Enrico Oddone (24:15.47) finished 2-3-4-5, respectively.
The Buffs' 15 points matches their team score from the 2023 championship and is the fifth time the LSC men's championship winning team has tallied 15 points. Former member Abilene Christian scored 15 points three times, the last in 2004, while WT matched that back-to-back in 2023 and 2024.
St. Edward's (96) edged Western New Mexico (97) for the second and third place spots among the 12 teams. Omar Guzman finished ninth, Ivan Guzman 12th and Dylan Sequeira 15th to lead SEU while Aaron Perez crossed in 13th to lead WNMU.
LSC Freshman of the Year Donald Kipsang placed sixth leading Texas A&M International to fourth place followed by DBU at No. 5 (112) and UT Tyler sixth (136). Cameron (173) was seventh led by LSC Newcomer of the Year Kgaogelo Moloisi.
Texas A&M-Kingsville (eighth, 228), Oklahoma Christian (ninth, 236), Lubbock Christian (10th, 270), Angelo State (11th, 358) and Eastern New Mexico (12th, 363) completed team scoring.
