Men's Notables
Six LSC men's teams head to Edmond, Okla., for the Oak Tree Invitational scheduled Monday and Tuesday (March 18-19) at the Oak Tree Country Club. Host Oklahoma Christian is joined by Cameron, Midwestern State, UT Permian Basin, UT Tyler, and West Texas A&M.  ...  The remaining LSC teams are off until the March 25-26 Midwestern State Invitational in Wichita Falls, Texas.
 
The first NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings post on Friday (March 15) and ranked teams will be listed in alphabetical order. The rankings link is accessible at the Div. II Men's Golf page.
 
Western New Mexico set four program records during its win at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout (March 11-12). The Mustangs posted a 28-under 836 (282-272-282) and recorded all-time best 18-hole, 36-hole, and 54-hole scores in addition to a tournament record score.  ...  LCU placed fifth at the Top of Texas Invitational (334-312-319--965) led by Tres Arreola who shot a 236.

Women's Notables

Three tournaments with West Region competition are on the schedule for LSC women's teams in the coming week. Lubbock Christian plays the Augustana Spring Fling Thursday and Friday (March. 14-15) in Palm Desert, Calif. Weather permitting, Western New Mexico is in Pueblo, Colo., for the Pack Spring Classic Sunday and Monday (March 24-25). DBU hosts its Patriot Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif., joined by conference rivals Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and UT Permian Basin for the Monday-Tuesday event (March 18-19).

LSC women's teams opened spring break week at tournaments from Florida to California (March 10-12). Led by Rebecca Reed's third-place and school record-tying tournament score (69-71-70—210), St. Mary's finished in a tie at second at the Emerald Coast Collegiate (302-293-287-882). UT Permian Basin was five strokes behind (303-291-293—887) at fourth with UAFS eighth (324-292-294—910) among the 17 teams.  ...  Angelo State carded rounds of 325-334-318—977 for second at the Top of Texas Invitational. Laura Klimora led the Rambelles finishing third among individuals (84-80-77—241). Lubbock Christian competed as individuals at the Top of Texas Invitational.  ...  UT Tyler shot the second lowest round of the field in the final round of the CSUSM Fujikara Invitational to jump into second place (302-307-299—908). Four UTT players finished among the top 20.  ...  Cameron nabbed second-place at the Hillcat Classic, posting rounds of 309-307—616. The Aggies were led by Ashley Davis who was fourth (78-75—153).

Arnav Arkanath, Western New Mexico, Jr., Business, Milton Keyes, Great Britain
Western New Mexico junior Arnav Arkanath finished the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout carding 15 birdies, two eagles and a hole-in-one to post a 10-under 206 (72-66-68) for first among individual players. Arkanath's play pushed WNMU to first place in the 17-team field.
 
WOMEN
Karina Duran, UT Tyler, So., Schertz, Texas

Sophomore Karina Duran finished second individually and helped lead UT Tyler to a second-place team finish at the CSUSM Fujikura Invite. Duran finished four-over par for the event, carding rounds of 72-75-73—220 with four birdies and four bogies on her scorecard. It was the sophomore's best individual finish in a Patriot uniform.
