The Lone Star Conference recognized 19 sports information students on Tuesday (Aug. 6) as recipients of the 2023-24 Sports Information Student Academic Award.
Each academic year, the LSC recognizes sports information students who devote countless hours assisting with the operation of the athletics department while finding time to excel in the classroom. To be eligible for conference academic honors, sports information students must carry at least a 3.30 grade-point average with a minimum of 24 semester hours. The qualifications mirror those required of student-athletes to gain LSC All-Academic recognition.
The 2023-24 award recipients represent eight LSC member institutions, with St. Mary’s honoring a league-high six sports information students. UT Tyler had five award winners, while UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M had two honorees each.
