One meet is on the Lone Star Conference schedule this week -- Saturday’s Southwestern Showdown in Georgetown, Texas -- as teams make final preparations for the LSC Cross Country Championships on October 25.
2025 LSC Championships
The 2025 postseason gets underway October 25 as Lone Star Conference teams race for conference titles at the
AP Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas. The women’s championship 6k race begins at 9 a.m. followed by the men’s 8k at 9:45 a.m. CT. West Texas A&M swept the team titles a year ago with the men winning their 12th straight and the women their second in a row. ... Sarah Koomson (WT) returns to defend her individual women’s title while the men will have a new champion.

Week Six Competition Review
- NMJC Thunderbird Open (Oct. 10): Olivia Weider placed seventh (18:57.4) to lead Lubbock Christian to third-place in the women’s 5k race (61 pts.). LCU men finished fourth (90 pts.) in the 8k with three Top 15 finishers led by Kaleb Gaona (12th, 25:27.2). .
- Lewis Crossover (Oct. 11): Both Oklahoma Christian teams competed in the cross-region event. Brooke Latham posted the LSC’s fastest 6k time of the week -- 21:58.0-- in finishing 15th in the women’s race. OC placed 27th among the 36 women’s teams (649 pts.). On the men’s side, Tegan Arega ran a 25:28.5 for 102nd in the men’s 8k with the Eagles 29th in the men’s standings.
- DBU Old Glory Gallop (Oct. 11): Teams got a look at the LSC Championship course, joining 40 women’s and men’s teams competing from all three NCAA divisions, NAIA and NJCAA affiliations.
- Women’s 5k: Midwestern State used a pair of Top 15 individual finishes -- Ella Pando (14th, 18:01.27) and Jaclyn Dangerfield (15th, 18:03.12 -- to place second behind team titlist Simon Fraser and lead the 11 LSC teams. DBU’s Megan Williamson was the top LSC individual finisher (7th, 17:44.50) followed by UT Tyler’s Macy Cogburn (9th, 17:52.97). Six teams joined MSU in the Top 20 -- UTT (4th), DBU (6th), Cameron (13th), Western New Mexico (16th), Eastern New Mexico (18th) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (20th).
- Men’s 8k: UT Dallas’ Alex Bozhilov ran to eighth place (24:23.76) and three other runners posted Top 20 finishes: Miquel Cruz, Cameron (18th, 24:36.93); Grayson Williams, UTT (19th, 24:37.25); and Jeb Williamson, DBU (20th, 24:38.67). Six LSC teams claimed Top 20 finishes -- DBU (4th), UTT (7th), CU (11th), UTD (15th), TAMUK (18th) and Western New Mexico (19th).
NCAA Postseason Ahead
NCAA Championship season begins with the South Central Regional November 8 at Walking Stick Golf Club in Pueblo, Colo. Teams and individuals who qualify out of the regional will head north to Kenosha, Wis., and the Wayne E. Dannehl National XC Course for the November 22 Division II National Championship.

WOMEN
Megan Williamson, DBU, Gr., Psychology, Clyde, Texas
Megan Williamson placed seventh in a field of 341 runners at the DBU Old Glory Gallop, leading all Lone Star Conference runners. The graduate student clocked a time of 17:44.5 -- the fastest 5k time posted in the LSC this weekend -- to claim her second straight top 10 individual finish this season as DBU finished sixth among teams.
MEN
Alex Bozhilov, UT Dallas, So., Finance, Sofia, Bulgaria
UT Dallas sophomore Alex Bozhilov was the top Lone Star Conference runner at the DBU Old Glory Gallop, finishing eighth out of 403 runners. Bozhilov broke the UTD 8k record with a time of 24:23.76, shattering the mark he set one week earlier by more than 51 seconds.

WOMEN
Chama El Hadiri, Eastern New Mexico, Fr., Business Administration, Marrakech, Morocco
Eastern New Mexico’s Chama El-Hadiri ran a personal collegiate best 18:22.97 time at the DBU Old Glory Gallop to finish as the top freshman runner from the LSC. The Morocco native placed 26th overall in the 5k race field of 341 finishers and led ENMU to an18th place team finish.
MEN
Grayson Williams, UT Tyler, Fr., Finance, Troy, Texas
Freshman Grayson Williams led UT Tyler at the DBU Old Glory Gallop, finishing 19th overall with a time of 24:37.25 in the 8k. After sitting in 57th place at the 5k mark, Williams surged over the final stretch to climb 38 spots, finishing as the fastest freshman in the Lone Star Conference for the week. His performance helped UT Tyler place seventh overall.
