All 17 Lone Star Conference men’s basketball teams are on a break until games resume on Friday, Jan. 2 with eight conference matchups. New league member UT Dallas plays a non-conference game on Jan. 3 then eight more LSC games are set to tip on Sunday, Jan. 4.
Three teams are without a conference loss at 3-0: DBU, Eastern New Mexico and No. 4 West Texas A&M.
ENMU has a league-best 10-game winning streak, while DBU has won seven in a row. No. 7 Lubbock Christian and No. 16 St. Edward’s have won three straight.
In non-conference play, LSC teams have gone 40-24 against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams.
ENMU senior forward Jose Murillo was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches/NCAA Division II Conference Information Directors of America
National Player of the Week on Dec. 2.
DBU is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the
preseason poll. Senior guard Damani Claxton of No. 13 St. Mary's was voted
preseason player of the year.
The LSC men’s basketball tournament will feature the top eight teams and is set for March 5, 7-8 at
Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. Tickets will go on sale in February.
Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, new league member UT Dallas and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC tournament but are able to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.

OFFENSIVE
Mo Austin, Eastern New Mexico, G, So., Business Administration, Pueblo, Colo.
Eastern New Mexico sophomore guard Mo Austin averaged 20 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and three steals to lead the Greyhounds to wins over Western Oregon and Westminster in Salt Lake City, Utah. Austin’s play helped ENMU improve its winning streak to 10 games – the most in program history since the 1992-93 season. Austin shot 59.3 percent from the floor and committed just two turnovers. He had his first double double of the season with 20 points and a season-high 13 rebounds in an 81-79 victory against WOU, narrowly missing a triple double with eight assists (also a season high). Austin has scored in double figured eight times this season as the Greyhounds are 10-1.
DEFENSIVE
Antonio Pusateri, Lubbock Christian, F, Jr., Business Administration, San Francisco, Calif.
Lubbock Christian junior forward Antonio Pusateri averaged 13 rebounds over four games – including pulling down a season-high 21 boards – to lead the No. 7-ranked Chaps to a three-win week. Pusateri, who wins the league’s top weekly defensive award for the season time this season, also averaged 20 points and added five steals and three blocks as the Chaps’ only loss was to top-ranked Washburn. Pusateri had a 20-20 double double in an 85-65 victory against Dominican in Las Vegas with 23 points and the 21 boards. It was the most rebounds in the LSC this season and second most in all of NCAA Division II this year. He followed that up with 20 points and 18 rebounds in a one-point win over No. 12 West Liberty.
