A busy week lies ahead for Lone Star Conference women's golf while the men have a break until March 17.
LSC Women
A dual match and five tournaments are scheduled for LSC women's teams this week. Play opens Thursday with UT Permian Basin hosting New Mexico Junior College in a dual. Three teams – Texas A&M-Kingsville, West Texas A&M and St. Mary's – will be in Destin, Fla., for the Emerald Coast Collegiate Sunday through Tuesday (Mar. 9-11). ... On Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 10-11) UT Tyler and Texas A&M International travel to Vista, Calif., and the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational; Midwestern State plays the Hillcat Classic in Owasso, Okla.; Cameron is in Magnolia, Ark., for the Arkansas Intercollegiate; and Western New Mexico competes in the SMSU Spring Invitational (Litchfield Park, Ariz.).
Cameron carded a 36-hole 614 to finish tied at 5th in the 16-team Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational (Mar.3-4). The Aggies had a pair of Top 15 individuals led by Maria Jose Savoca who shot 149 (73-76) to tie at eighth and Alexis Webb in a 13th tie with a 151 (73-78). ... UT Permian Basin scored a 332-395 dual match win vs. Western Texas College (Feb. 28), taking the top four spots on the individual leaderboard. Falcons Ainhoa Gurrutxaga and Ella Veretto tied for first with each carding an 82 for the 18-hole event.

LSC Men
The LSC men's teams take a weekend break before eight squads head to Edmond, Okla., and the Oak Tree Invitational March 17-18.
Weather played havoc with play for the four LSC teams Oklahoma Christian led four LSC teams at the Las Vegas Desert Classic (Mar. 2-4), finishing eighth among the 20 teams with an 853 (297-277-279). St. Mary's was 11th (863), DBU finished 13th (871); and UT Tyler 17th (885). StMU's Baptiste Touchard claimed the individual title, carding a 204 (68-67-69). Leandro Mihaich (208) of Oklahoma Christian tied at fifth and DBU's Samuel Jenkins in ninth (210) for a trio of LSC Top 10 individuals. ... UT Permian Basin finished fourth (303-308—611) for a fourth-place finish at the 17-team Shadow Valley Invitational in Rogers, Ark. (Mar. 2-4). The Falcons were led by Ioan Rowe (75-73) and Will Tate (73-75) who each shot 148 to tie at fifth among individuals. ...

MEN
Baptiste Touchard, St. Mary's, Jr., Finance and Risk Management, Saint-Agathon, France
Recording a birdie on three of his final eight holes and par on the other five, St. Mary's junior Baptiste Touchard erased a three-shot opening day deficit to win the Las Vegas Desert Classic by one stroke. Touchard finished the 54-hole tournament 12-under, shooting 204 (68-67-69) for the win. He is the first Rattlers golfer to record all three rounds in the 60s since Ryan Dixon did so at the 2022 LSC Championship.
