2025 Top Times Men Women
As the calendar turns to October, teams begin settling into their pre-Lone Star Conference championship training. Three meets on the men’s and women’s schedules have six men’s and five women’s teams competing on Saturday (Oct. 4). Oklahoma Christian men join St. Edward’s and UT Dallas men’s and women’s teams in Fayetteville, Ark., for the
Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival. Both men’s and women’s teams from Texas A&M-Kingsville and West Texas A&M run in the
Swags Louisville Cross Country Festival in Kentucky. Sul Ross State teams are scheduled for the
Our Lady of the Lakes Classic in San Antonio.
Week Four Review
The first month of the season closed with LSC teams in action throughout Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and in California.
- Cameron Invitational II (Sept. 26): Cameron women and men each came away with the win in their last home meets of the season. The Aggie men were led in the 8k race by the 3-4-5 finishes of Alex Teffu (26:25.1), Victor Ramos-Sambade (26:25.23) and Miquel Cruz (26:30.96). Cameron shared the team title in the women’s 5k with Marie Sommer (18:52.8) and Akaya Lightbourne (18:59.1) one-two among individuals.
- The Hill Cross Country Classic (Sept. 26): DBU swept the men’s 8K and women’s 5k races and UT Dallas placed fourth in both meets. The top two finishers in the women’s race -- Megan Williamson (19:08.4) and Courtney Richman (19:16.5) -- led seven DBU runners among the top 10. Alexia Callahan (16th, 20:28.4) was the top UTD finisher. DBU claimed four top five places on the men’s side with Jeb Williamson (2nd, 26:05.2) and Isaac Pendley (3rd, 26:22.1) the first two Patriots’ runners. UTD men were led by Alexander Bozhilov who finished sixth (26:29.1).
- Dr. Steve McCleery Invitational (Sept. 26): Angelo State and Eastern New Mexico finished third and fourth, and UT Permian Basin seventh in the women’s 5k. Chama El-Hadiri was the top LSC runner, posting a 19:29.7 for seventh. ASU’s Ashley Stratton (13th, 20:15.6) and Chasity Benson (14th, 20:21.0) were the top ASU runners and Fanny Bergstrom led UTPB (30th, 22:57.7). In the men’s 8k, ASU and ENMU finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Alex Hauck (19th, 27:08.3) and Corey Labbe (20th, 27:21.0) were the top ASU individuals and Thomas Aerdts led ENMU (35th, 28:55.1).
- Cowboy Jamboree (Sept. 26): Four women’s teams and three men’s squads competed at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree. Midwestern State (12th), UT Tyler (14th), Oklahoma Christian (15th) and Lubbock Christian (17th) in the women’s 6k with OC’s Brook Latham finishing 58th behind a 22:07.2 time -- the sixth-best 6k time in the conference -- 11 seconds ahead of MSU’s Ella Pando (22:38.0). Macy Cogburn (22:45.0) led UTT and Olivia Weider (23:15.5) was the top LCU finisher. UT Tyler was the highest finishing non-Division I men’s team (13th) behind David Soto (39th, 24:54.2) and Grayson Williams (73rd, 25:33.7). Samuel Bryan (26:18.4) led LCU with Tegan Arega (26:18.4) the top OC finisher.
- UCR Invitational (Sept. 27): Samuel Ketcham recorded the eighth fastest 8k time (25:02.1) to finish 15th and lead Western New Mexico to sixth in the 22-team men’s field. Michael Castorena (25:35.4) and Ameen Ibrahim (25:46.5) placed among the Top 40. In the women’s 5k, Aubrey Lozoya ran an 18:12.8 -- the eighth-best 5k time in the LSC -- to place 12th and teammate Vanessa Dominguez finished in 19:20.4 in leading WNMU to 11th among on the team list.
LSC, NCAA Postseasons Ahead
The 2025 schedule shows Lone Star Conference teams racing every week from September 4 through October 18 building toward the October 25 LSC Championships at the
AP Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas. Teams will get a look at the conference course when DBU hosts its Old Glory Gallop on October 11. ... General information about the 2025 LSC Cross Country Championships

NCAA Championship season begins with the South Central Regional November 8 at Walking Stick Golf Club in Pueblo, Colo. Teams and individuals who qualify out of the regional will head north to Kenosha, Wis., and the Wayne E. Dannehl National XC Course for the November 22 Division II National Championship.

WOMEN
Aubrey Lozoya, Western New Mexico, Sr. Zoology, Albuquerque, N.M.
Senior Aubrey Lozoya etched her name in Western New Mexico history running a school-record 5K time 18:12.8 at the UC Riverside Invitational. Her record time is the eighth fastest 5K time posted in the Lone Star Conference this season. Lozoya placed 12th overall among the 251 finishers, leading the Mustangs to an 11th-place finish among 26 schools.
MEN
Jeb Williamson, DBU, Sr., Cyber Security Management, Kaufman, Texas
Jeb Williamson helped lift DBU to the team title at The Hill Cross Country Classic, finishing second overall among the 128 runners with a time of 26:05.2 in the 8K event. Williamson posted his eighth Top 10 career finish and averaged 5:14.8 per mile.

Avery Frank, DBU, Fr., Communications, Liberty Hill, Texas
DBU freshman Avery Frank posted a career-first Top 10 finish at The Hill Cross Country Classic. Frank posted a 19:57.5 for eighth place in the 5K race. In addition, she was the top freshman finisher in the 91-runner field.
MEN
Ameen Ibrahim, Western New Mexico, Fr., Pre-Engineering, El Paso, Texas
Western New Mexico freshman Ameen Ibrahim turned in a breakout performance at the UC Riverside Invitational, clocking a season-best 25:46.5 in the 8K. Ibrahim placed 37th overall in a field of 287 finishers, helping the Mustangs secure a strong sixth place finish out of 22 teams.
