Three teams - Angelo State, UAFS, and Texas A&M-Commerce – are unbeaten after two weeks of Lone Star Conference games.
LSC volleyball teams are 127-100 overall this season. The squads are currently 22-15 combined against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, the other league in the NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Selena Batiste, West Texas A&M, SR, Management, Right Side, Portland, Oregon, Central Catholic
Batiste had a huge weekend for the Lady Buffs as the senior led WT to a pair of five-set Lone Star Conference victories at St. Edward's and St. Mary's. The Portland native registered 43 kills on 97 swings with just four attack errors to hit .402 on the weekend to average 4.30 kills per frame to go along with four assists, two service aces and 12 digs for 46.0 points. Batiste tallied a career-high 22 kills on Friday night in Austin as she hit .455 in the match and followed that up with 21 kills on Saturday afternoon in the Alamo City.
DEFENSIVE
Chandler Vogel, West Texas A&M, JR, Marketing, Libero, Hereford, Texas, Hereford HS
Vogel continued to lead the way in the back row for the Lady Buffs as WT picked up a pair of five-set Lone Star Conference road victories in the Hill Country over St. Edward's and St. Mary's to move to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in league action. The Hereford product registered 58 digs for an average of 5.80 per frame as the junior registered nine assists and two service aces while not committing a receiving error. Vogel tallied 30 digs and four assists on Friday night in Austin and she followed that up with 28 more assists on Saturday to near the Top-10 on WT's all-time digs list.
SETTER
Lindsey Ledyard, Angelo State, JR, Marketing, Setter, Cedar Park, Texas, Cedar Park HS
Ledyard was a valuable asset to the Belles offense as the team hit .287 in three victories. She totaled 54 assists for an average of 6.00 per set. Ledyard's performance helped ASU sweep Lubbock Christian, UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico at home to improve to 13-1 overall and 5-0 in LSC games.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Kailyn Gilbreath, Angelo State, played a phenomenal three games for the Belles against Lubbock Christian, University of Texas-Permian Basin, and Western New Mexico. She averaged a .606 hitting percentage and 4.44 kills per set. The sophomore had 44 total kills on 66 total attempts with only four errors. She added nine digs and one block.
Katarina Mendez, St. Edward’s, led the Hilltopper attack and posted an impressive .463 attack percentage in an emotional five-set match against West Texas A&M. She posted 22 kills and just three errors in the loss. Mendez added seven digs.
Avery Moore, Lubbock Christian, had a career week for LCU, posting 50 kills in three matches. Following an 11-kill performance on the road at Angelo State, Moore stepped into the Rip Griffin Center and matched a career high with 16 kills (.368 hitting performance) against Western New Mexico and followed smashing her career high with 23 kills against Texas-Permian Basin. She also had eight digs and 6.0 blocks (three solo), leading to a 27.5-point outing in the UTPB contest. Moore was responsible for 4.58 points per set.
Sydney Andersen, Texas A&M-Commerce, was an efficient and potent weapon for the Lion offense last week, hitting .391 on the outside in the team's two road wins. Against MSU Texas, she tallied 16 kills and a block while hitting .361 against the Mustangs. She then brought her efficiency even higher, recording 16 kills while hitting .429 against TWU. In total, she averaged four kills per set, helping the Lions to two road wins.
Emma Eakin, DBU, helped propel the Lady Patriots to a 2-1 mark last week, with wins over Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-International. Eakin led DBU with 52 kills for an average of 4.0 kills per set and posted a .303 hitting percentage. In the Lady Patriots' wins over Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-International, she posted back-to-back career highs in kills with 19. She also totaled 14 kills in a narrow 3-2 loss on the road to Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Rockelle Gholson, Midwestern State, recorded 15 kills and 19 digs to earn her fourth double-double of the season as Midwestern State took a set from No. 20 Texas A&M-Commerce. The senior narrowly missed her second straight double-double on Saturday in a four set win over UT Tyler, finishing with nine kills and 10 digs.
Lauren Kersey, Tarleton State, has taken to her new role in the Tarleton offense very well as the sophomore from Norman, Oklahoma continued to power the Texans. Kersey landed 18 kills on a team-high .400 hit percentage while also accounting for three service aces and 10 total blocks. Kersey accounted for 26.5 points and 3.31 points per set last week, including seven kills with no errors on 14 swings in a sweep of Texas A&M International.
Keely Hardin, DBU, totaled 84 digs and averaged 6.5 digs per set last week, as the Lady Patriots posted wins over Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-International before falling 3-2 on the road at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Hardin also helped lead a DBU defensive effort that held their three opponents to a .131 hitting percentage.
Gabi Lau, Western New Mexico, could not be beat in the back row for the Mustangs, the Kailua native racked up 53 digs on the weekend, including a 22 digs performance in a 3-set sweep over UT - Permian Basin, averaging just over 7.33 a set in that match.
Haley Coulter, Angelo State, was a force to play against this past week. She totaled 41 digs and averaged 4.55 digs per set. Coulters performance led the Belles to three conference wins against Lubbock Christian, UTPB, and Western New Mexico.
Savannah Rutledge, Texas A&M-Commerce, was a major factor on the defensive end for the Lions, while also sparking some offense. She had 13 digs in each match as the Lions pulled off two road wins in their divisional matches. Rutledge kept multiple points alive and then helped to direct the Lion offense, tallying nine assists in each match.
Sarah Eakin, Midwestern State, turned in a monster 12-kill, seven block performance to help Midwestern State snap a seven match losing streak with a four set win over UT Tyler. Earlier in the week, Eakin recorded six blocks against No. 20 Texas A&M-Commerce. She hit .435 for the week while helping to hold opponents to a .191 kill rate.
Sage Chain, Lubbock Christian, posted an impressive defensive week for the Lady Chaparrals with 15.0 blocks in three games on the week. Her high was a 8.0-block outing against Texas-Permian Basin, which included seven assisted blocks. Chain's block numbers helped LCU set a program record with 18.0 blocks against UTPB. Offensively, she contributed 11 kills on the week, with six coming in a win over Western New Mexico. She had six kills and 4.0 blocks in the contest for a 9.0-point tilt against WNMU.
Sofia Tonga, Tarleton State, was dominant at the net for the Texans in their south Texas road trip. Tonga made 13 total blocks, including 10 assisted blocks, for an average of 1.62 blocks per set. She began the week with seven blocks against Texas A&M-Kingsville and followed up with six in a sweep of Texas A&M International Saturday.
Bree Perry, St. Mary’s, led the Rattlers to a straight set victory over Eastern New Mexico for the programs first-ever Lone Star Conference victory. The senior dished out 34 assists against the Greyhounds as St. Mary's hit at a .230 clip in the win. In the second match of the week, Perry had 49 assists as the Rattlers hit .207 as a team. St. Mary's eventually fell to West Texas A&M in five sets. On the week, the Houston native compiled 83 assists over eight sets. She is tied for the second-most assists in the Lone Star with 430 on the season.
Bradi Marshall, Lubbock Christian, contributed another consistent week of positive play for the Lady Chaparrals, as her week included 10.08 assists per set, 36 digs (3.0 per set) and 8.0 blocks. Two of her three performances on the week led to double-doubles, with them marking her 24th and 25th of her career. She eclipsed 50 assists for the fifth time in her career Friday, with 51 against WNMU (12.8 per set). Against Texas-Permian Basin, she had 49 assists, 15 digs, three kills and 5.0 blocks.
Celeste Vela, Texas A&M-Commerce, in her first week of extended action of the 2019 season, helped spark the Lion offense to two road wins last week. She led the team to hit .245 on the weekend, placing the ball right where it needed to be for the Lion hitters, averaging 6.5 assists per set in the Lions' 6-2 offense. Vela had 28 assists in the team's four-set win over MSU Texas, while also tallying a double-double with 12 digs. She was also a lethal server, recording four aces in the match. Vela then had 24 assists and nine digs against TWU, helping lead the Lion offense to hit .268 in the match. In total, the Lions averaged nearly 16 kills per set over the weekend.
Strealy Sizelove, DBU, helped propel the Lady Patriots to a 2-1 mark last week with wins over Texas Woman's and Texas A&M International. Sizelove led DBU with 80 assists and averaged 6.2 assists per set.
Sadie Snay, West Texas A&M, paced the West Texas A&M offense this past weekend as the sophomore registered 111 assists to average an incredible 11.10 per frame as the Lady Buffs hit .255 on the weekend in a pair of road wins at St. Edward's and St. Mary's. The Kingman, Arizona native tallied 14 kills on 46 swings with six attack errors to hit .174 on the weekend to go along with one ace and 26 digs for an average of 2.60 per set while tallying six total blocks for 18.0 total points. Snay dished out a career-high 57 assists on Friday night in Austin to go along with 15 digs for a double-double followed by 54 assists and 11 digs on Saturday in San Antonio.
Amari Franklin, Tarleton State, led Tarleton with 43 assists and an average of 5.38 assists per set last week. With Franklin leading the way, Tarleton managed a .205 hit percentage for the week including a .283 clip against Texas A&M International.
