Angelo State and UAFS are the only two undefeated teams after three weeks of Lone Star Conference contests at 7-0 and 6-0, respectively.
LSC volleyball teams are 148-121 overall this season. The squads are currently 22-15 combined against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, the other league in the NCAA South Central Region.

OFFENSIVE
Sundara Chinn, Angelo State, SR, Psychology, Right Side Hitter, Houston, Texas, Bellaire HS
Chinn had a phenomenal weekend as Angelo State recorded victories at Texas A&M-Commerce and UT Tyler. She had a season-high 14 kills and six blocks in the four-set win over the Lions. Chinn added 11 kills against the Patriots. She totaled 25 kills along with 7 blocks while hitting .301 for the weekend. Chinn scored 28.5 points for the Belles as they improved to 15-1 overall.
DEFENSIVE
Makenna Hanssen, Angelo State, SO, Biology, Defensive Specialist, San Antonio, Texas, Brennan HS
Hanssen was a huge asset on defense for the Belles in wins at Texas A&M-Commerce and UT Tyler. She led the team with 35 digs and helped hold opponents to a .102 hitting percentage. Hanssen registered 18 digs and six assists versus the Lions, and 17 digs and five assists against the Patriots.

Meghan Parker, Angelo State, SR, Exercise Science, Setter, San Antonio, Texas, Johnson HS
Parker helped guide the Angelo State offense which hit .286 in wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and UT Tyler on the road. She averaged 5.43 assists per set in the 6-2 attack with 38 total assists. Parker had 25 assists in the four-set victory over the Lions along with six digs. She added 13 helpers in the sweep of the Patriots.

SELECTED NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Alexa McAndrew, St. Edward’s, led the Hilltoppers offensively and defensively this week, posting 12 kills and 10 kills in two matches. SEU fell 3-0 to UTPB before winning 3-0 to Western New Mexico. McAndrew was the team leader in kills and digs, averaging nearly four kills per set with three digs per set.
Shelley Chapron, Texas A&M-Commerce, had another impressive offensive week last week, as she hit .379 over that time frame. Against DBU, Chapron hit .412 with eight kills in the team's sweep. She then hit .318 with nine kills in the team's loss to Angelo State. She finished the week with her best performance, tallying 14 kills, including six in the closeout set, hitting .407 in the team's four-set win over Lubbock Christian. Against LCU, Chapron reached 1,000 kills in her collegiate career.
Travana Matthews, UT Permian Basin, helped UT Permian Basin to a 2-0 record this week, beating St. Edward and St. Mary’s in straight sets. The senior captain leads the team in kills, blocks, points and hitting percentage. Offensively, she had 15 kills with just 2 errors this week, hitting .371 and averaging 2.50 kills per set. Her best match of the week was versus St. Mary’s where she had nine kills on 16 swings with 0 errors and hit .563. Travana currently ranks 3rd in the LSC for the season hitting percentage at .387. Defensively, she racked up 9 blocks in just 6 sets for a 1.50 blocks per set average. Her best match of the week was versus St. Edwards where she collected 6 blocks in 3 sets for a 2.0 blocks per set average. Matthews is currently 2nd in the LSC for the season in blocks per set at 1.17.
Trixie Oche, Texas Woman's, was a catalyst in the Pioneers impressive week on the road which saw the team finish with a 2-0 record in conference play. She recorded six kills on an impressive .357 hitting percentage against Eastern New Mexico before helping lead the Pioneers to a signature victory over West Texas with 10 kills, nine block assists and a block solo. The victory was the second time in program history that the Pioneers defeated the Lady Buffs in Canyon.
Jordan Wonders, Texas A&M-Kingsville, helped the Javelinas pick up a pair wins over the last week and maintain the top spot in their division at 4-0. In her team's first victory, she fell just short of a double-double with 10 kills and nine total blocks, both career-highs. She also hit .471 with only two errors on 17 attacks in a four set win over Texas A&M International. Wonders immediately reset her career-high in kills on Saturday, rattling off 11 with a .259 hitting percentage in a sweep of the Dustdevils in Laredo. Over her team's three matches, Wonders averaged 2.25 kills and 1.25 blocks per set with a .317 kill rate.
Lauren Kersey, Tarleton State, continued to dominate for the Texans as the sophomore right side landed 14 kills in seven sets on a team-high .440 hit percentage. She also led the way with seven blocks, an average of 1.0 per set, last week. She had 12 of her kills against UAFS Saturday afternoon on a .474 hit clip.
Nicole Murff, Texas A&M-Kingsville, piled up 74 digs over three matches for an average of 6.17 digs per set as the Javelinas held their opponents to a combined hitting percentage of .073 while also picking up two wins. Murff racked up 29 scoops on Tuesday against Lubbock Christian while the Javelinas limited the Lady Chaps to a kill rate of .012. In a Thursday night win over Texas A&M International, the sophomore logged a game-high 29 digs, set a season-high in assists with nine and contributed three aces. In a rematch against the Dustdevils on Saturday, Murff helped the Javelinas score a sweep with 20 digs, four helpers and a pair of kills as TAMUK stayed perfect in division play and improved to 4-0.
Bailey French, Texas Woman's, helped anchor a Pioneer defense that conceded only one set in two matches last week. She was key fixture in each of the Pioneers' two victories last week over Eastern New Mexico and West Texas. The libero recorded a team-high 39 digs over the course of the two matches, posting 24 of those digs against a WT team that had only lost one match in conference play prior to their meeting on Oct. 5. The win in Canyon also marked the second in program history, the first since 2015.
Michaela Rodriguez, Tarleton State, paced the Tarleton defense 29 digs for an average of 4.14 per set. With Rodriguez leading the way, Tarleton held opponents to a .153 hit percentage including holding Cameron to a (-).029 hitting clip in a Friday night sweep.
Maya Smalls, St. Edward’s, posted a team high nine blocks this week to lead the Hilltoppers, averaging 1.5 blocks per set. She added in six digs, one per set, and also had eight kills on the weekend as SEU went 1-1 with a 3-0 win over Western New Mexico.

Against DBU, Chapron and the Lion front held the Patriots to just a .050 hitting percentage, as Chapron had three blocks and forced several errant attacks with her length. She then had four blocks against LCU in the Lions' four-set win. Chapron reached 1,000 career points scored as a Lion against DBU, the 20th Lion in school history to reach the 1,000 point mark.

Analise Lucio, UT Permian Basin, ran UT Permian Basin offense to a 2-0 record this week, with straight set wins over St. Edwards and St. Marys. She tallied 58 assists and 14 digs, while guiding the offense to a .212 hitting percentage. Her best match of the week was versus St. Edwards where she had 33 assists (11.0 per set), 10 digs and 5 kills hitting .455.
Celeste Vela, Texas A&M-Commerce, captained the Lion offense to a pair of wins last week, leading the team to a .218 hitting percentage with 71 assists. She first had 20 assists in the Lions' sweep of DBU, helping lead the team to a .309 hitting percentage. She then had 19 assists in the team's four-set loss to ASU. She then had a season-high 32 assists in the team's four-set win over LCU, helping the team to a .264 hitting percentage.
Bailey Wozniak, Texas Woman's, helped lead the Pioneers to a pair of victories last week against conference foes Eastern New Mexico and West Texas. In the 3-0 victory over the Greyhounds, Wozniak recorded a season-high 26 assists to go along with 10 digs for a double-double. Against the Lady Buffs, she added six kills to her totals as the Pioneers won at WT for only the second time in program history -- the first time since 2015.
Kayla Brannon, Tarleton State, led Tarleton with 38 assist in seven sets, including a 30-assist performance against UAFS. She also had a block and a service ace for the week.
