PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Asha James, West Texas A&M, JR, Psychology, MF, Canaan, Trinidad & Tobago, Signal Hill Secondary
James was instrumental in the Lady Buffs' 3-2 win over UT Tyler on Saturday as WT improved to 8-1-1 on the season. The junior placed two of her three shots on goal, including her game-tying strike off a corner kick in the 58th minute. The Trinidadian midfielder found Maliyah Mendoza in the 66th minute to provide the game-winner on another set piece from the corner. James is second in points for the Lady Buffs this season, registering 21 in just 10 matches for the league’s top-scoring team by average.

DEFENSIVE
Brooklyn Fink, Oklahoma Christian, JR, Accounting, DEF, Moore, Okla., Westmoore HS
Fink anchored an Oklahoma Christian back line that earned a pair of shutouts during a 1-0-1 week that included a scoreless draw against St. Edward’s, who was receiving votes in the latest Division II poll. The junior led the Eagles’ defense to 180 scoreless minutes, allowing just five shots on target. OC opened the week with a 1-0 shutout of Midwestern State and closed with a 0-0 draw at home against the Hilltoppers. The Eagles have run off three consecutive shutouts.

GOALKEEPER
Jenna McEnaney, UT Permian Basin, JR, Engineering, GK, Midland, Texas, Lee HS
McEnaney was brilliant as the Falcons won back-to-back Lone Star Conference matches for the first time since joining the league in 2017. The Midland native had a huge second-half save in a 1-on-1 situation to keep No. 24 Angelo State from reclaiming the lead as the Falcons pulled off the 2-1 upset in Odessa. The junior totaled four saves in the victory, all in the second half. She followed that performance with six saves in a shutout win over Texas Woman's on Saturday. It was her third shutout of the season and led the Falcons to their fourth win, the program's best mark since 2015.
