Lone Star Conference women’s soccer league play is here.
All 14 LSC teams have played at least one conference match. Midwestern State (2-0), St. Mary’s (2-0), Angelo State (1-0), No. 10 DBU (1-0-1) and UT Permian Basin (1-0-1) are still unbeaten in league play.
This week’s conference slate will feature six matches on Wednesday (Oct. 2) and seven on Saturday (Oct. 5).
As far as statistical leaders, UT Tyler has the top scoring average at 4.2 goals per match. The Patriots are also allowing a league-low .43 goals per match, followed by Angelo State (.50). Individually, Annie Rocha of St. Edward’s owns the points lead with13 (six goals and one assist). UT Tyler’s Natalie Jones leads the LSC with three game-winning goals, while teammate Emily Clark leads the conference with a .400 goals-against average.
The LSC Women’s Soccer Championship is set for Nov. 12, 15 and 17. Quarterfinals will be on campus, while the semifinals and championship match will be at the site of the No. 1 seed.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Malia Dominguez, St. Mary’s, F, So., International Business, Helotes, Texas
St. Mary’s sophomore forward Malia Dominguez scored three goals – including a game-winner – and added an assist to lead a 2-0 week against Sul Ross State and West Texas A&M. Dominguez had a brace in the LSC opener against SRSU and an insurance goal against WT that secured the Rattlers’ first win in Canyon, Texas in nine tries. Dominguez’s .714 shot accuracy ranks second in the LSC this season.
DEFENSIVE
Tina Clark, Angelo State, D, So., Management Information Systems
Angelo State sophomore defender Tina Clark led a 2-0 shutout of Texas Woman’s to open conference play by spearheading the defensive unit and scoring both goals. Clark and company, who now have four straight shutouts and five over their first six matches, ended TWU’s three-game winning streak. Clark scored both of her goals in the first half.
GOALKEEPER
Valeria Delgado, UT Permian Basin, GK, So., Marketing, San Jose, Costa Rica
UT Permian Basin sophomore goalkeeper Valeria Delgado had one shutout and three saves to lead an unbeaten start in LSC play. Delgado’s shutout came on the road against Oklahoma Christian. It was the Falcons’ first win over OC in 10 years and the first time the Eagles have been shut out this season. OC was coming off a 3-3 tie against nationally-ranked DBU. Delgado also preserved a 1-1 tie against Texas A&M International with two saves. She played all 180 minutes over the two matches.
