Only six playing dates remaining in the 2024 Lone Star Conference women’s soccer regular season – Oct. 23, Oct. 26, Oct. 29, Nov. 1 and Nov. 4 and Nov. 7.
Angelo State (8-1-3 overall, 6-0-1 LSC) is atop the conference standings with 19 points, followed by No. 10 DBU (17), Oklahoma Christian (14) and Lubbock Christian (13). Midwestern State, Texas Woman’s and UT Tyler all have 12 points as 14 teams battle for the seven spots in the LSC Women’s Soccer Championship.
As far as statistical leaders, DBU has the top scoring average at 3.0 goals per match, followed by UT Tyler (2.615) and MSU (2.250). ASU is tops on opponent’s average, allowing a league-low .42 goals per match. UT Tyler (.54), Texas Woman’s (.58) and DBU (.73) are next in line. Individually, Oklahoma Christian’s Kyla Lovelace of owns the points lead 21 (10 goals and one assist). UT Tyler’s Natalie Jones leads the LSC with five game-winning goals. ASU’s Amber Lockwood leads the league with a .428 goals-against average and is tied for the top shutouts spot with TWU’S Amanda Farris. They each have seven clean sheets.
The conference tournament is set for Nov. 12, 15 and 17. Quarterfinals will be on campus, while the semifinals and championship match will be at the site of the No. 1 seed.

OFFENSIVE
Taylor Tufts, DBU, MF, Sr., Master of Science in Kinesiology, Southlake, Texas
DBU senior midfielder Taylor Tufts had a pair of braces and an assist over a 2-0 week for the No. 11-ranked Patriots. Tufts, who ranks third in the conference with 16 points, helped DBU win its third consecutive match and stay unbeaten on the season. Tufts’ assist came against West Texas A&M was the 21st of her career. She played just a combined 114 minutes against WT and Sul Ross State.
DEFENSIVE
Katelin Heise, Angelo State, D/MF, Gr., Exercise Science, Lubbock, Texas
Angelo State defender/midfielder Katelin Heise spearheaded a pair of shutout wins – making it four in a row for the Rambelles – against St. Mary’s and Eastern New Mexico. Heise scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the 3-0 victory at ENMU. Heise and company have recorded shutouts in nine of their last 10 matches and are atop the conference standings. A 2-0 victory over St. Mary’s kept ASU unbeaten at home (4-0-2).

Oklahoma Christian sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Wooten recorded two shutouts with a combined 14 saves against Lubbock Christian and UT Tyler. Wooten had six stops to lead the Eagles to their first win over LCU in program history. She became the first goalie this season to have a clean sheet against UT Tyler and did so on the road in a 1-0 match.
