The 2024 Lone Star Conference women’s soccer season is underway.
 
All 14 league teams have played at least one match with Angelo State, No. 12 DBU, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State, Oklahoma Christian, UT Permian Basin, UT Tyler and West Texas A&M still unbeaten.
 
Conference play begins as early as Sept. 25.
 
The LSC Women’s Soccer Championship is set for Nov. 12, 15 and 17. Quarterfinals will be on campus, while the semifinals and championship match will be at the site of the No. 1 seed.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Cassidy Savoy, Midwestern State, F, Sr., Psychology, Fort Worth, Texas
Midwestern State senior forward Cassidy Savoy scored three goals and assisted on two more to lead the Mustangs to a 2-0 start to the season for the first time since 2010. Savoy recorded a brace – including the first goal of the game and season – and an assist against Western Colorado. Savoy had the game-winning goal and her other assist in a 3-1 win against Central Oklahoma.
 
DEFENSIVE
Parker Coe, DBU, D, Jr., Education, Carrollton, Texas
DBU junior defender Parker Coe anchored the No. 18-ranked Patriots’ defense and added the game-winning goal in a 2-0 shutout of Southwestern Oklahoma State. Coe and company limited SWOSU to just one shot. Her goal came in the first half and was from 35 yards out.
 
GOALKEEPER
Emily Clark, UT Tyler, GK, Jr., Marketing, Bullard, Texas
UT Tyler junior goalkeeper Emily Clark made seven saves and did not allow a goal over two matches to begins the season, Clark made six stops – including one on a breakaway attempt in the 86th minute – and recorded her first career clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Rogers State. She then made a save in the first half of a victory against East Central. She logged 135 minutes over the two matches.
