It's on to October for Lone Star Conference volleyball with matches set for Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (Oct. 2, 4-5). … Three LSC teams hold spots among the AVCA/Taraflex Top 2 rankings: #10 West Texas A&M, #14 Angelo State and #23 DBU. … ASU carries an 11-match win streak into its Friday night showdown at West Texas A&M. St. Mary's follows with a five-match win streak and looks to extend with Friday-Saturday home action vs. Oklahoma Christian and Cameron. … Six teams came through the conference-opening weekend unscathed (2-0) with five others recording a split (1-1). … Sophomore Madi Parrish claimed AVCA Division II National Player of the Week honors for Sept. 24. The ASU outside hitter is the 17th Lone Star Conference player to earn the award since its inception.

OFFENSIVE
Evelyn Torres, Angelo State, Outside Hitter, Gr., Criminal Justice, Fort Worth, Texas
Evelyn Torres powered the #14-ranked Angelo State offense to a 2-0 start in LSC play, averaging 5.75 points per set on a .357 attack percentage. The graduate student opened with 17 kills and hit .517 in the Belles' sweep at Midwestern State and came back with a 25-kill, 24-dig double-double performance in a reverse sweep of Texas Woman's. Torres added a pair of service aces and collected three blocks over the two matches.
 
DEFENSIVE
Dakota Rogers-Hurtado, UT Tyler, Middle Blocker, Sr., Kinesiology, McKinney, Texas
Senior Dakota Rogers-Hurtado recorded eight blocks, including six vs. Oklahoma Christian, as UT Tyler posted LSC-opening wins against OC and Cameron. The middle blocker's presence at the net helped the Patriots hold opponents to a combined .184 attack percentage. She added to the UTT offense recording 19 kills on a .567 attack percentage.
 
SETTER
Aryn Walton, DBU, Setter, Gr., MBA, Midlothian, Texas
Graduate student Aryn Walton led 23rd-ranked DBU to a pair of wins over Cameron and Oklahoma Christian to open Lone Star Conference play. Walton posted a team-high 58 assists (9.67 per set) out of the 5-1 offensive set to ignite a DBU offense that hit .433 for the weekend.
 
FRESHMAN
Leddy Rae Guinn, Lubbock Christian, Libero, Fr., Pre-Nursing, Stephenville, Texas
Freshman Leddy Rae Guinn provided a strong back row performance for Lubbock Christian in a road split in the LSC-opening weekend. The libero opened with 20 digs against Texas Woman's -- her fourth 20-plus digs match of the season -- followed with 34 digs in the 3-1 in at Midwestern State. Her defensive play helped LCU hold the two opponents to a combined .194 attack percentage.
