After three weeks of Lone Star Conference men’s soccer play, Texas A&M International (2-0-4) is the only team without a loss. No. 17 St. Mary’s (1-0 to Midwestern State), UT Tyler and St. Edward’s all fell for the first time last week. DBU (3-1-1) and UT Dallas (3-2-1) are tied for the most wins.
 
TAMIU’s offense leads in scoring average (2.5 goals per match), while West Texas A&M’s defense leads in opponents average (0.50 goals per match).
 
Conference matches begin Oct. 1.
 
MSU is the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the preseason poll. SEU’s Arthur Souza and StMU teammates Luke Mulkey and Johnny Thurbin were voted preseason players of the year.
 
The LSC men's soccer tournament will be comprised of the top six teams and is scheduled for Nov. 8 (quarterfinals), Nov. 12 (semifinals) and Nov. 15 (final). The quarterfinals will be held on campus of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds; the semifinals are hosted by the No. 1 and No. 2 seed; and title match will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.

OFFENSIVE
D’Jonte Davis, West Texas A&M, F, Jr., Business, Prosper, Texas
West Texas A&M junior forward D’Jonte Davis scored two goals and added an assist in a 4-0 victory over Colorado Christian. Davis found the back of the net for the first time in the 14th minute to give the Buffs a 2-0 lead. He assisted on the third goal then closed his day with a penalty kick goal in the 65th minute. Davis’ play helped the Buffs snap a two-game skid.
 
DEFENSIVE
Jaime Villagomez, Midwestern State, D, Sr., Marketing, El Paso, Texas
Midwestern State senior defender Jaime Villagomez helped fuel a 1-0 shutout of No. 17 St. Mary’s – the Rattler’ first loss of the season – and had two goals on the week. Against StMU, he found the bottom corner of the net in the 8th minute. Villagomez’s other goal came in a road draw with Southern Nazarene.
 
GOALKEEPER
Connor Pettigrew, Lubbock Christian, GK, Gr., Accounting, Frisco, Texas
Lubbock Christian graduate student and goalie Connor Pettigrew had a shutout against Newman, allowed just one goal on the road against No. 20 Fort Hays State and totaled seven saves over both matches. Pettigrew stopped four shots against Fort Hays State.
