UTPB (7-1 overall, 5-0 LSC) and CWU (6-2, 6-0) are the only conference teams unbeaten in league play. Both have won six consecutive games.
UTPB owns the league’s top total offense (478.5 yards per game) and total defense (263.9 ypg). The Falcons are also scoring a league-high 47.5 points per game.
CWU has allowed just 21 points over its last two games. The Wildcats kept both opponents under 260 yards of offense.

This week features a Thursday night (Oct. 26) game, as Eastern New Mexico travels to Jefferson City, Mo., to face Lincoln. Four conference tilts will be on Saturday (Oct. 28).

OFFENSIVE
Kenny Hrncir, UT Permian Basin, Gr., MBA, QB, Needville, Texas, NHS
Hrncir threw for four touchdowns without an interception to help UT Permian Basin defeat nationally-ranked Angelo State on the road – its first win over the Rams in program history – and keep the Falcons unbeaten in league play. Hrncir, who takes the LSC’s top weekly offensive award for the second time this season, was 21-for-27 for 203 yards. Hrncir, who broke the school record for TD passes in a season with 20, also ran for 43 yards.
DEFENSIVE
Michael Gary, Midwestern State, Jr., Exercise Psychology, DE, Fort Meyers, Fla., Cape Coral HS
Gary returned a fumble for a touchdown and had back-to-back sacks to help Midwestern State defeat Western Oregon on the road. Gary had two tackles for loss and also led a unit that held the Wolves to just six points and 193 yards of offense. His 15-yard score came in the second quarter and was the Mustangs’ first TD of the game.

Ritse Vaes, Midwestern State, Jr., Criminal Justice, K, Wichita Falls, Texas, Hirschi HS
Vaes matched his own school record by making four field goals to help lead Midwestern past Western Oregon on the road. Vaes, who wins the league’s top weekly special teams award for the second time this season, was successful from 45, 32, 37 and 22 yards. He also made all of his three extra-point attempts. In addition, Vaes handled kickoff duties.
