Central Washington, Angelo State, UT Permian Basin and Midwestern State all earned Week 4 wins. Central Washington was the only victory on the road (against Western Oregon). Texas A&M-Kingsville had a bye. To read the recaps, click here.
 
Texas A&M-Kingsville is the only LSC team unbeaten on the season at 3-0 (1-0 in conference). Central Washington (2-2, 2-0) and UT Permian Basin (3-1, 1-0) are also undefeated in league play.
 
In the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 Poll, Texas A&M-Kingsville is No. 16 and Angelo State is No. 20. Central Washington is receiving votes. To see the entire poll, click here.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Kenny Hrncir, UT Permian Basin, Gr., MBA, QB, Needville, Texas, NHS
Hrncir threw for 319 yards with three touchdowns and ran for 105 yards with two scores to lead UT Permian Basin to a 41-40 overtime win over West Texas A&M. Hrncir’s two rushing TDs were sneaks that tied the game with 15 seconds left and then won the game. He completed 19 passes and ran the ball 20 times. Hrncir’s three TD tosses were to three different receivers. His 424 yards of total offense ranks second in program history.  
 
DEFENSIVE
Tanner Volk, Central Washington, Jr., Business, S, Portland, Ore., Aloha HS
Volk had two interceptions – for the second consecutive game – and led Central Washington to a 17-7 road win over Western Oregon. Volk, who takes the league’s top defensive award for the second consecutive week, returned one pick 33 yards. He also had four tackles, one pass break-up and spearheaded a unit that held the Wolves to just 206 yards of total offense. Volks leads the league with five interceptions and 33 tackles through four games.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS
Ritse Vaes, Midwestern State, Jr., Criminal Justice, K, Wichita Falls, Texas, Hirschi HS
Vaes hit a 54-yard field goal with one second remaining to left Midwestern State to a 34-31 win over previously unbeaten Eastern New Mexico. The kick was the longest for a MSU kicker at Memorial Stadium. It ranks second in NCAA Division II this season and is the longest in the LSC since 2019. Vaes also hit a 37-yarder in the fourth quarter and added four extra-points. In addition, Vaes handled kickoff duties and had five touchbacks.
