The Lone Star Conference women’s soccer regular season in complete. No. 1 DBU (16-1, 12-1 LSC) is the LSC regular season champion, but was upset at home by Midwestern State (10-1-6, 10-0-4 LSC) in the regular season finale. DBU had won an NCAA-best 16 games in a row.
 
With the LSC crown, DBU is the top seed for the LSC tournament, which has already gotten underway. To watch every match of the LSC tournament, tune in to FloCollege (monthly and yearly subscriptions are available).
 
The LSC All-Conference and All-Academic teams will be announced Wednesday (Nov. 12) live at the LSC Women’s Soccer Championship Reception and on LoneStarConference.org.
 
The LSC has had three players earn national honors this season. DBU senior defender Parker Coe was named United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Month for September. She became the first player in program history to earn the honor. DBU senior midfielder Anne Louthan was named Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) National Player of the Week on Oct. 16, then St. Mary’s junior forward Elena Kossler won the honor on Oct. 28.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Michelle Ramirez, St. Mary’s, MF, Jr., International Business, Helotes, Texas.
St. Mary’s junior midfielder Michelle Ramirez notched the game-winning goal in a 1-0 road win over Lubbock Christian to secure the No. 6 seed and a first-round bye in the LSC tournament. Ramirez’s first career goal came in the 18th minute. Her score helped lead the Rattlers to their fourth straight win and kept them unbeaten over their final six regular season matches.
 
DEFENSIVE
Bella Rose, Midwestern State, D, Fr., Business Finance, Wichita Falls, Texas
Midwestern State freshman defender Bella Rose anchored a unit that shut out No. 1 DBU on the road and snapped the Patriots’ 16-game winning streak. Rose played all 90 minutes of the 2-0 victory, which was the Mustangs’ seventh clean sheet of the season. Rose and company held DBU to a season-low five shots on goal and kept the Patriots off the scoreboard for the first time this year. It was also the first win for MSU over DBU as a conference opponent. Rose helped MSU to its 15th consecutive match without a loss and the No. 2 seed in the LSC tournament.
 
GOALKEEPER
Lauren Short, Midwestern State, GK, Fr., Pre-Vet Medicine, Frisco, Texas
Midwestern State freshman goalkeeper Lauren Short made a career-high five saves to shut out No. 1 DBU on the road and end the Patriots’ 16-game winning streak. Short is the first goalkeeper to hold DBU off the scoreboard this season and first to hand DBU a home conference loss since 2021. Short’s play also helped the Mustangs secure the No. 2 seed in the LSC tournament and extend their unbeaten streak to 15 matches.
