Score Updates on LSC Scoreboard
Of all the Lone Star Conference tennis teams (nine men’s and 11 women’s), only one is still unbeaten on the season: the No. 22 ASU women at 14-0. The Rambelles are 3-0 in LSC play.
Following the ASU women for top winning streaks are four teams tied with four in a row: No. 36 UT Tyler women (10-5, 2-0 LSC), St. Mary’s women (10-6, 3-0 LSC), No. 19 Midwestern State men (8-3 overall) and No. 30 Cameron men (7-2, 1-0 LSC).

The
LSC Tennis Championships are scheduled for April 30-May 2 at
Arlington Tennis Center in Arlington, Texas. The men’s and women’s single-elimination tournaments will feature the top five men’s teams and top six women’s teams.
The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s regionals will be held at campus sites from May 8-12, while nationals are set for May 19-24 at Surprise Tennis and Raquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, new league member UT Dallas and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC or NCAA tournament but are eligible to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.

MEN’S SINGLES
Kelly Giese, Lubbock Christian, Jr., Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Lubbock Christian junior Kelly Giese led the No. 14-ranked Chaps to a 2-0 week on the road in conference play, winning at No. 1 singles against UT Dallas and No. 7 UT Tyler. Giese, who wins the league’s top weekly singles award for the third time this season, extended his singles winning streak to 12 matches. He opened with a 6-2, 6-3 win over UT Dallas then delivered the clinching point in a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory against a fellow ranked opponent from UT Tyler. Giese’s play helped the Chaps to their first ever win over UT Tyler. Giese also went unbeaten playing No. 1 doubles.
MEN’S DOUBLES
Kelly Giese (Jr., Management, Manhattan Beach, Calif.) & Mattia Ghedin (Sr., Exercise Science, Treviso, Italy), Lubbock Christian
Lubbock Christian’s Kelly Giese and Mattia Ghedin powered the No. 14-ranked Chaps to an unbeaten week on the road with a pair of No. 1 doubles wins. The duo secured the doubles point in both matches against UT Dallas and No. 7 UT Tyler. Giese and Ghedin began with a 6-3 win over UT Dallas then topped a fellow nationally-ranked doubles team of UT Tyler, 6-3. Giese and Ghedin, who have won five matches in a row, helped the Chaps to their first ever team win over UT Tyler. They also went unbeaten in singles play.
WOMEN’S SINGLES
Benedetta Raggiotti, Angelo State, So., Psychology, Perguia, Italy
Angelo State sophomore Benedetta Raggiotti went unbeaten in No. 4 singles to help the No. 31-ranked Rambelles to wins over Cameron and No. 24 Midwestern State. Her play helped ASU win both matches 4-3 and stay unbeaten on the season (14-0). Raggiotti won 6-4, 6-1 against CU then 6-3, 7-5 against MSU. She is now 14-0 on the season on singles play, playing at No. 4 and No. 3. Raggiotti added a doubles win against MSU.
WOMEN’S DOUBLES
Jenna Goessel (Sr., Psychology, Munich, Germany) & Nil Kalkavan (Jr., Business Administration, Istanbul, Turkey), Cameron
Cameron’s Jenna Goessel and Nil Kalkavan won a pair of No. 1 doubles matches on the road against nationally-ranked opponents from Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville. The duo secured the first point in each match. Goessel and Kalkavan won 7-6 (7-4) against ASU and 7-5 against TAMUK. They helped the Aggies defeat TAMUK 5-2. Goessel and Kalkavan are now 2-0 together with one unfinished match. Goessel also played No. 1 singles and won twice.
