The Lone Star Conference men’s soccer title will be decided on the final day of the regular season (Wednesday, Nov. 5). Still in contention are new league member No. 21 UT Dallas (11-4-2 overall, 7-1-1 LSC, 22 points) and No. 9 Midwestern State (11-3-3, 7-2 LSC, 21 points).
 
Both teams will go on the road and have 7 p.m. CT matches. UTD will take on UT Tyler in Tyler, Texas, while MSU will face St. Mary’s in San Antonio, Texas. Both matches will be live on FloCollege.
 
The LSC men's soccer tournament will be comprised of the top six teams and is scheduled for Nov. 8 (quarterfinals), Nov. 12 (semifinals) and Nov. 15 (final). The quarterfinals will be held on campus of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds; the semifinals are hosted by the No. 1 and No. 2 seed; and title match will be hosted by the highest remaining seed. The LSC All-Conference and All-Academic teams will be announced on LoneStarConference.org on Nov. 11.
 
Due to being NCAA Division II provisional members, UTD and Sul Ross State are not eligible for the LSC tournament but are able to win the LSC regular season title and postseason awards.
 
MSU has the top scoring average in the league at 1.941 goals per game and has also allowed the fewest goals per game (.82). St. Edward’s is second in scoring at 1.813 goals per game, while SRSU (.94) is also below one-goal allowed per game.
 
MSU was voted the favorite to win the LSC title this season, according the preseason poll. SEU’s Arthur Souza and St. Mary’s teammates Luke Mulkey and Johnny Thurbin were voted preseason players of the year.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE MEN’S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE
Caden Berg, DBU, F, Fr., Business, Prosper, Texas
DBU freshman forward Caden Berg scored three goals to help lead an unbeaten week against St. Mary’s and St. Edward’s. Berg had a brace, including the game-winner, on the road in a 3-0 win over StMU. He then scored in the 62nd minute to give the Patriots a 2-1 lead in an eventual 2-2 tie with SEU. Berg’s play has helped DBU go unbeaten in four of its last five matches.
 
DEFENSIVE
Ethan Krchnak, Midwestern State, D, So., Computer Science, Pearland, Texas
Midwestern State sophomore defender Ethan Krchnak helped fuel a 2-0 week with shutouts against Lubbock Christian and Sul Ross State. In a 2-0 road victory against SRSU, Krchnak assisted the game-winning goal and then recorded the other goal. In a 2-0 game with LCU, Krchnak and company dealt the Chaps their first conference home loss of the season. Krchnak’s play has helped No. 9 MSU win three matches in a row and seven of their last eight.
 
GOALKEEPER
Jake Morris, Midwestern State, GK, So., Business Analytics and Information Systems, Parker, Colo.
Midwestern State sophomore goalkeeper Jake Morris had a clean sheet with a career-high six saves on the road against Lubbock Christian. Morris, who wins the league’s top weekly goalkeeper award for the second time this season, helped the No. 9-ranked Mustangs had LCU its first conference home loss of the season. Morris is tied for second in the league with five shutouts this season.
