No. 12 Central Washington, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Sul Ross State earned conference victories, while UT Permian Basin won a non-conference matchup over No. 21 Northeastern State during Week 5 of Lone Star Conference football. UTPB has a four-game winning streak and CWU, MSU and TAMUK have all won three games in a row. SRSU snapped a two-game skid.

Midwestern State 44, (RV) Western Oregon 32: Led by Kaden Brown’s four touchdown passes, Midwestern State racked up 612 yards of offense and topped Western Oregon 44-32 at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, Texas. MSU improved to 3-0 in league play, scoring over 40 points in each game. Brown finished 30 of 42 for 436 yards – connecting with five different wide receivers who had more than 50 yards each – and also ran for 55 yards on eight carries. MSU, which got interceptions from Kameron Griffin and Jake Potucek, allowed just eight points after halftime. It was a one-possession game until Brown connected with Dominic Cox for a 25-yard TD with 3:27 remaining. WOU’s Jordan McCarty threw for 247 yards and two TDs, while Andrew Soles (13 tackles) and David Morre Jr. (10 tackles and one INT) led the defense.

(RV) UT Permian Basin 38, No. 21 Northeastern State 27: Fueled by five interceptions, UT Permian Basin upset No. 21 Northeastern State 38-27 at Gabe Field in Tahlequah, Okla. Nicholas Butler had two INTs, including one for a TD, while McKyle So’oto Leonard Adams and Dwayne Wingfield had one pick each. UTPB, which has won four games in a row, had INTs on four straight drives during the second half. Nate TenBarge passed for 224 yards and ran for 52 yards, totaling two TDs (one passing and one rushing). So’oto added 15 tackles and one sack and Eli Leiataua has 12 tackles. Diego Chavarria had a 32-yard field goal for UTPB. For Northeastern State, Deuce Robinson had 14 catches for 168 yards and two scores, while Michael Parker had two sacks. It was the first meeting between the two teams.

No. 12 Central Washington 41, Angelo State 13: Justin Brennan passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead No. 12 Central Washington to a 41-13 win over Angelo State in its first visit to LeGrand Stadium in San Angelo, Texas. Brennan finished 17-for-23 for 245 yards with no interceptions and ran for 88 yards on four carries. CWU, which built up a 27-7 lead at halftime, improved to 3-0 in league play. The Wildcats have scored more than 40 points in each win. CWU’s Ryder Bumgarner ran for 108 yards and a TD on 21 carries, while Isaac Torres caught four passes for 101 yards and a score and AJ Perez hauled in two TDs. Joseph Jefferson II led the Wildcats with 10 tackles and David Jones had nine stops and forced a fumble. ASU’s Ashton Dickens ran for 102 yards and a TD on 16 carries and Zach Buton forced a fumble.

Texas A&M-Kingsville 28, West Texas A&M 21: Edward Chumley and Christian Kretz each scored two second-half touchdowns to complete a 28-21 comeback victory over West Texas A&M at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville, Texas. TAMUK, which is now 3-0 in conference play, trailed 21-0 midway through the third quarter. Kretz had the game-winning score, hauling in a 37-yard pass from Mills Dawson with 18 seconds remaining. Chumley finished with 182 yards on 31 carries and Kretz caught five passes for 120 yards. Mills was 13-for-26 with three TDs. TAMUK’s Jeremiah Conaway had eight tackles and forced two fumbles. WT’s Porter Know was 17 of 33 for 180 yards passing for three TDs and no interceptions. Trace Clarkson was his top target, catching six passes for 100 yards and a TD. Miles Hill had 11 tackles and Dominick Toulon had two sacks for the Buffs.

Sul Ross State 56, Eastern New Mexico 43: Will Howell scored five touchdowns and accounted for 494 yards of offense to lead Sul Ross State to a 56-43 win over Eastern New Mexico at Jackson Field in Alpine, Texas. It was a 43-43 game with 7:35 to play until Howell threw TD passes to Keithron Lee and Kyree Patyton. Howell finished 37-for-46 passing for 412 yards and three TDs and ran for 82 yards and two scored on 22 carries. Lee had seven catches for 76 yards and two scores and Taribbean Ramirez had 14 catches for 125 yards. Emmanuel Osom had nine tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and an interception to lead the Lobos on defense. Jose Trevino (202 yards and two TDs on 13 carries), Clifton Cooper (107 yards and a TD on 12 carries) and Emeka Megwa (89 yards on 14 carries) led ENMU’s rushing attack. Julian Williams had seven tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery for the Greyhounds.
